West Ham United have rejected a British-record bid of £105m for captain Declan Rice from Arsenal, making it the third such rejection from the Hammers.
After winning the UEFA Europa Conference League with West Ham, influential midfielder Rice disclosed his wish to leave the club for a bigger one this summer.
Arsenal have moved for the 24-year-old midfielder as a result, but have found West Ham to be stubborn negotiators. The Hammers rejected a first bid of around £75-80m, before rejecting a second bid of £90m for the midfielder. They have now rejected a British record bid of £105m, more than what Manchester City paid Aston Villa for Jack Grealish.
The Hammers are unsatisfied with the structure of the deal proposed by Arsenal, and have decided against accepting it. They also rejected a £90m bid for the midfielder from European champions Manchester City days ago as they look to collect a fee in the excess of £100m for the England international.
Negotiations will continue to take place between Arsenal and West Ham, and both sides will look to reach a resolution for the transfer of Declan Rice this summer.
