Westbrook and Durant inspire Thunder, Rockets soar above Raptors

The Oklahoma City Thunder held off the Milwaukee Bucks 104-96 thanks to Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant.

Westbrook posted his 10th triple-double of the season and Durant had a double-double as the Thunder ended a run of back-to-back defeats in the NBA on Sunday.

Thunder guard Westbrook finished with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists, while team-mate Durant recorded 32 points and 12 rebounds.

Giannis Antetokounmpo produced a triple-double of his own for the Bucks, scoring 26 points and having 12 rebounds and 10 assists.

The Toronto Raptors’ franchise-record winning streak at home was ended by the Houston Rockets, who triumphed 113-107.

Toronto had won 12 consecutive games at Air Canada Centre, a run dating back to January 3.

But the performance of Rockets star James Harden (40 points, 14 assists) snapped that streak.

The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Golden State Warriors 112-95, handing the league’s top team just their sixth loss of the season in one of the biggest upsets in NBA regular-season history.

Stephen Curry (18 points) and Klay Thompson (15 points) struggled offensively, shooting a combined 13-for-40 from the field and just one-for-18 from three-point range – the duo’s worst combined three-point shooting game as team-mates.

Conversely, the Lakers’ young backcourt played a brilliant game as Jordan Clarkson scored 25 points on 10-for-21 shooting and rookie D’Angelo Russell added 21 points.

Kobe Bryant contributed 12 points in 24 minutes.

In other results, D.J. Augustin made two free throws with 0.9 seconds remaining in overtime as the Denver Nuggets pipped the Dallas Mavericks 116-114.

The Detroit Pistons accounted for the Portland Trail Blazers 123-103, the Phoenix Suns downed the Memphis Grizzlies 109-100, while the Miami Heat defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 103-98.
