Why Chukwueze started AC Milan debut on the bench – Coach Reveals

AC Milan Head Coach Stephan Pioli has revealed reason new signing Samuel Chukwueze started his Serie A debut on the bench on Monday August 21.

Chukwueze joined AC Milan from Villarreal with two weeks to the opening game of the season vs Bologna, a game the Rosonerri won 0-2 thanks to goals from Olivier Giroud and Christian Pulisic.

Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze who was not part of the team for pre-season was a second half substitute. The left-footer replaced Pulisic for the final 17 minutes of action.

In his post match interview, Pioli spoke on decision to name the new boys on the bench for the opening game.

” We are playing those who are most ready, who have been working together since July. Chukwueze, Okafor, and Musah only arrived two weeks ago, but I don’t think it will take them long to be at the same level as their teammates,” Pioli told DAZN.
