Why Super Falcons skipper Onome Ebi cried while watching FIFA Documentary
Super Falcons of Nigeria skipper Onome Ebi has revealed why she cried while watching a FIFA documentary of her teammates comments about her.
Aged 40, Ebi captained the Nigeria Super Falcons team to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
Following their last-16 elimination, a documentary by the Federation of International Football Associations – FIFA featured Super Falcons players speaking about the impact and love they have for their skipper.
Ebi In a video shared on Twitter was moved to tears by the comments from her national team colleagues.
” That priceless moment I watched messages from my teammates. I never knew they all loved & cherished me so much.
” I never saw it coming. I never knew I inspired my own teammates. They never just said it to me physically. The tears just kept coming for almost 10 mins,” Onome Ebi Tweeted.
That was her sixth FIFA Women’s World Cup, and she managed two appearances to reach 109 caps for the Nigeria Women’s National team since her debut in 2003.
