Why Victor Osimhen turned down AC Milan in January for Charleroi stay

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has revealed that he turned down a move to Italian giants, AC Milan for Sporting Charleroi stay.

The 20-year-old striker who has scored 10 league goals and assisted two goals in 22 league games for Sporting Charleroi this season caught the eyes of the Italian giants but he rejected the move.

Victor Osimhen explained that he opted to stay in Belgium in other to continue his development and that a Janaury move to Milan would be too soon for him.

“In the beginning I thought it was a joke,” Osimhen told Belgian daily LaDH.

“It was a difficult decision to stay, but I am right here at Charleroi, January was not the time to leave.”

Had he make the move, Victor Osimhen would have joined the likes of Taribo West, Taye Taiwo and Nnamdi Oduamadi (although, never played for the first team) to have worn the coveted Red and Black of Milan.
