David James is adamant Declan Rice has an easy choice to make after Manchester City late interest in the West Ham midfielder who is Arsenal’s radar.

Arsenal were said to be in the driving seat for a deal for the Chelsea academy graduate but things have changed in the last few days.

The North London club were said to have a gentleman agreement with West Ham but Declan Rice leading West London club to the UEFA Europa Conference League has reportedly increased his market value.

Arsenal insisting on paying the initial agreed fee and also payment structure have allowed Manchester City to get on the scene.

With both clubs now in a chase for the English midfielder, David James believes he has a simple decision to make.

“Declan Rice is top drawer and Manchester City are the best team in Europe probably gonna be the best team in the world in a few months once they win the World Cup championship.

“If Declan Rice is a part of that its because he deserves to be.

“Why would he want to play for Arsenal? One team’s the European, FA Cup and Premier League champions, the other is neither.”
