Wilfred Ndidi amazing numbers in Leicester City’s 3-1 victory over Liverpool
Nigeria International midfielder Wilfred Ndidi put up a man of the match performance as his club Leicester trash Liverpool on Monday.
The former Genk midfielder didn’t score the goals but he was instrumental in his side’s 3-1 victory over free-scoring Liverpool at the King Power Stadium.
All has not been well with the 2015-16 champions who recently sacked their Premier League winning manager Claudio Ranieri following repeated poor performances in the league that has made them the worst defending champions in the history of Premier League.
With the reports of players’ power being behind the manager’s sack and the hostile atmosphere at Leicester one could conclude Jurgen Klopp and his men would easily take the day but for Ndidi and co it was another story.
The 20-year-old Nigerian midfielder was all over the field blocking balls, covering spaces, breaking up plays, winning duels and making interceptions that were key to his side’s 3-1 victory on Monday.
In fact, Ndidi recorded numbers that haven’t been seen by the Foxes in a long while.
