Will Victor Osimhen Make a Money-Spinning Move to Al Hilal? Galatasaray Boss Clears the Air
Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has denied reports that Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has agreed to a big-money move to Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal.
Buruk made it clear that Osimhen is still enjoying his time in Istanbul and has not made any final decision about his future.
Earlier this week, several reports, including Sky Sports via Fotbolti, claimed that the Super Eagles star had reached an agreement with Al Hilal and his parent club Napoli. The reports suggested a huge three-year deal worth €120 million was on the table, depending on approval from Saudi authorities.
Osimhen, 25, is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli and has had an outstanding season. He scored 36 goals and provided eight assists in 40 appearances, playing a key role in Galatasaray’s title win, especially after Mauro Icardi’s injury.
Despite still being under contract with Napoli until 2025 and having a £63 million (€75 million) release clause, several top European clubs — including Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal — have shown interest in the forward.
However, Galatasaray boss Buruk says the reports about a move to Saudi Arabia are false.
“Osimhen will look at the conditions,” Buruk told I Just Spoke, via NTV Spor. “He is very happy here at Galatasaray. These are the best days of his life. The player will decide his future.
“There are talks, but nothing has been agreed with the Arabian side. He is a professional and has done an incredible job for us. We hope he stays, but we respect whatever decision he makes.”
As rumours continue to grow, Galatasaray are keen to keep Osimhen and are preparing to offer him one more week to make a final decision.
For now, it seems no deal has been struck, and the future of one of Africa’s top forwards remains open.
