William Troost-Ekong adds to Super Eagles Injury list
Super Eagles assistant captain William Troost-Ekong has confirmed injury that will rule him out of the International friendly game Vs Algeria on Tuesday September 27.
The Watford FC defender captained the Eagles in the 2-2 draw vs the Algeria B team in a test game on Friday at the Hamaloui Stadium in Constantine .
The Nigeria Football Federation-NFF and the player on Saturday September 24 announced the defender sustained injury in the test game on Friday and has been excused to return to England .
Ekong has been a regular in the Super Eagles starting XI since his debut and in his absence , Eagles Head Coach Jose Paseiro will likely call upon Leganes defender Kenneth Omeruo, Kevin Okpoguma , Valentine Ozoronwafor and Ajax left back Calvin Bassey in central defence against the Desert Foxes on Tuesday .
The likes of Wilfred Ndidi , Leon Balogun , Victor Osimhen , Leon Balogun , Ahmed Musa etc have previously pulled out from the squad for the friendly game .
Nigeria will play Algeria on Tuesday September 27, 2022 in Oran .
