#WTTCupFinals: Aruna Quadri beats Liang Jingkun to advance to last 8

Aruna Quadri continues to shine on the biggest stage after securing a 3-1 against China’s Liang Jingkun in the maiden WTT Cup finals.

The Nigerian who is currently world number 13 defeated his Chinese counterpart who is world number 8 and Bronze medalist at just concluded ITTF World Table Tennis Championships.

Aruna Quadri dropped the first set 11-7 but won the remaining three 11-1, 14-12 and 11-5 to book a place in the quarter-final.

He stand a chance of winning the $600,000 prize money and further put his name on the record books.

Quadri is already the first African table tennis player to achieve many things in the sport and could further cement bis place in history if he goes to the end in Singapore.
