Enyimba 2 Nasarawa United 1: Mfom Udoh’s brace gives People’s Elephant maximum points

Mfom Udoh brace gave Enyimba a 2-1 victory over Nasarawa United at the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar, this evening in their Nigeria Professional Football League on matchday 5.

The game quickly got a goal with Enyimba’s in form striker, Mfon Udoh converting from the spot in the 13th minutes after Ibrahim Mustapha was tripped in the box. It was a nice finish from the Enyimba striker.

Enyimba had few chances to double the lead, but couldn’t convert.
Adamu Hassan scored in the 36th minute for Nasarawa United to restore Parity for the Lafia based side.

Mfon Udoh who seem rejuvenated scored 1 minute after Nasarawa’s equalizer, but could not beat the offside trap and had the goal ruled out.

The game had an end to end drama with both sides having chances to score more, but it ended all square at half time.

Enyimba tried to restore the lead and finally got it via skipper and leader Mfon Udoh, the goal was assisted by Leonard Ugochukwu in 68th minute.

The win today sees Enyimba unbeaten against Nasarawa United in the league in the past five meetings (4W, 1D). Mfon Udoh also finding Joy today, he has scored 4 goals in his previous 5 appearances against Nasarawa United.

Certainly, a good win for Ogunbote and his boys and he would be pleased because the win moves them to 4th on the log with 10 points joint with MFM FC who are ahead with Goals difference as they continue to move past last season’s disappointment.

The fans of the team can begin to believe right now that they are back to where they belong, and even with Mfon Udoh’s current form and his strike partner, Ibrahim Mustapha who has been involved in 3 goals for his new team this season they can boast again.

Good win for Enyimba ahead of Wednesday’s meeting with El Kanemi warriors away.

Not too good one for Kabiru Dogo’s team who have 5 points from a possible 15 so far. And they face an unbeaten Plateau Utd on Wednesday at the Lafia Township Stadium. They need to start picking up points now.

They are currently 16th on the log.
