Yira Sor Outshines Gift Orban As Nigerian Stars Spark Excitement in Genk-Gent Showdown

Yira Sor stole the spotlight with a brilliant brace, securing a 2-2 draw for Genk against Gent at the Cegeka Arena on Sunday.

The 23-year-old forward’s stellar performance overshadowed Gift Orban, the other Nigerian leading the attack for Gent.

Despite Gift Orban being the highest-profile Nigerian player among the four involved in the clash, Yira Sor’s standout display turned heads.

Sor found the net twice, once in each half, playing a crucial role in Genk’s 2-2 home draw against Gent.

Yira Sor showcased his goal-scoring prowess for 76 minutes before making way for another Nigerian player, Toluwalase Arokodare.

On the opposing side, Gift Orban completed the entire game for Gent, while Jordan Torunarigha made a second-half appearance as a substitute for the visitors.

In this high-profile Belgian Pro League clash, four Nigerians, two from each club, played significant roles, contributing to the thrilling 2-2 draw.

So far this season, Yira Sor has been in fine form, netting three league goals in nine appearances. On the other hand, Gift Orban has also made his mark with three goals in 13 games, making both Nigerian forwards key contributors for their respective teams.
