Young Nigerian defender proud of Manchester United debut

Manchester United have handed a debut game to an 18-year-old Nigerian in their 2-1 Europa League second round win against LASK on Wednesday.

The Nigerian-born defender was subbed on for Timothy Fosu-Mensah as the Reds progressed into the last eight of the competition.

Teden Mengi, 18, who was glad of his accomplishment made this known to the world with his statement on his official Twitter page.

‘What a feeling,’ said Tenden on his Twitter page.

‘Proud moment for me and my family tonight to make my debut for @manchesterunited at old Trafford,

‘Big thank you to everyone for the support. Time to kick on 🚀.’

*Two days after this publication, the young defender who had Nigeria-born on his Wikipedia has now removed it.*
