Super Eagles defender helps Portuguese giants pick up away win

Zaidu Sanusi delivered a goal scoring performance for FC Porto as they came from behind to defeat Vitoria SC 2-1 in their league meeting.

Brazilian forward Andre Silva only needed 17 minutes to open the scoring for Vitoria SC at home, netting his fourth of the campaign for his side. The striker missed a penalty but put away the rebound to give his side the lead.

Porto pressed their opponents hard after going behind and found themselves level after 39 minutes of the encounter. Nigerian left-back Sanusi popped up at the back post to head home a fine delivery from the left foot of Fabio Conceicao for his first goal of the season.

The Super Eagles defender was forced off in the 55th minute with an apparent injury.

The son of the manager Sergio Conceicao, Fabio, was once again vital in helping his side secure the winner away from home. The winger scored in the 59th minute to hand his side all three points from the encounter.

FC Porto are now in third place on 25 points from their opening 11 matches, with Vitoria SC further back in sixth place on 19 points.
