Zaidu Sanusi Shines as Porto Beat Braga To Win Portuguese Cup

Zaidu Sanusi played a crucial role in Porto’s memorable victory over Braga, leading his team to a 2-0 win in the Portuguese Cup final on Sunday.

Despite not starting the game, Sanusi’s entrance proved to be a game-changer for Porto, as they claimed the prestigious cup.

Ricardo Horta’s own goal in the 51st minute gave Porto the much-needed lead in what was a fiercely contested encounter. However, Porto faced adversity when Wellington received a red card in the 62nd minute, reducing them to 10 men.

It was at this critical moment that Zaidu Sanusi was called upon. He replaced Toni Martinez, who had come in as a substitute for the injured Evanilson just before half-time.

Sanusi’s inclusion brought a new sense of defensive solidity to the team, as he made crucial tackles and interceptions, ensuring Porto remained in control of the game.

Braga’s hopes were further diminished when Sikou Niakate was also sent off in the 79th minute, two minutes later Otavio found the back of the net, to give Porto a 2-0 lead.

Zaidu Sanusi’s impact cannot be understated in this crucial match. His presence on the field provided stability and composure, allowing Porto to defend resolutely and maintain their lead.

The Nigerian defender has now won another trophy with the Portuguese giants having previously won the league title, the Portuguese cup in the past.
