Zimbabwe Vs Nigeria: Veteran Coach advices Warriors on best approach

Veteran coach, Sunday Chidzambwa, has charged the Zimbabwe senior men’s national team, the Warriors, on best approach to FIFA World Cup qualification games vs Rwanda and Nigeria.

The Zimbabwean national team will face Nigeria on matchday two of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification series but prior to the game against the Super Eagles, they will kick-off their qualifying campaign against Rwanda on 15 November, 2023.

Ahead of the two-games In November, Chidzambwa, who managed the Zimbabwe national team from 2017 to 2019, advised the players to stick to their own brand of football despite the caliber of opposition.

“We must not respect them, we must play our own type of football, fight for ninety minutes and achieve good results for the nation,” the 71-year-old was quoted on Zimbabwe Football Association X handle.

The Warriors will begin their quest for a first-ever FIFA senior World Cup spot this month with the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Bafana Bafana of South Africa top-dogs in a group that also includes, Lesotho and Rwanda who Zimbabwe face on matchday one.

Meanwhile, Jose Peseiro tutored Super Eagles of Nigeria will begin their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign with a home game against Lesotho on November 16 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo before the game vs Zimbabwe days-later.
