CAF Champions League: Mamelodi Sundown ready to down Enyimba

Absa Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns who will play Nigeria Profesional League champions Enyimba at Atteridgeville’s Lucas Moripe Stadiumin today by 6pm in a CAF Champions League clash are battle ready, according to Pitso Mosimane.

Pitso Mosimane the coach of the Tshwane giants is positive about his teams chances of making it to the next round and getting result when they Enyimba play later today.

“You have to win two games at home‚ beat Zamalek and Enyimba then you are on six points‚” Mosimane said this week.

“Our mentality has changed a bit‚ we have found our confidence to go out and win,” he said.

The coach was quick to neglect the impact of the points taken from them as a result of the disqualification of ES Setif chosing to talk about the lesson learnt from the game than the point loss and Setif’s disqualification.

“We should also know that set-pieces will be very important. In Algeria we faced challenges at set-pieces and that is what Bafana Bafana face when they go away…we need to overcome that and be able to guard against that.,” Mosimane said.

“We have learnt that in the Champions League, you must never concede at home, especially in knockout stages. That’s the lesson we learnt rather than complaining that we lost three points. We have been given privileges. There are so many benefits out of this. Where we are now we can say we are among the top seven on the continent.”.

Sundowns Communications co-ordinator Thulani Thuswa has once more called on the Yellow Brigade to paint the Lucas Moripe Stadium yellow to ensure that the support the Nigerian side will get is neutralised.

“This is not only about Sundowns, it is about the country. We need everyone to come out in support of the team as they represent the country,” Thuswa said.
