2024 NBA Playoffs recap: Nuggets and Knicks advance with 3-2 series wins

In Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, the New York Knicks secured a decisive 121-91 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday, led by a stellar performance from Jalen Brunson.

Brunson’s remarkable play propelled the Knicks to a 3-2 series lead, putting them on the brink of their first trip to the Eastern Conference finals in 24 years.

The Knicks responded emphatically to their previous 32-point loss in Game 4, with Brunson delivering a standout performance, scoring 44 points, and contributing seven assists.

Additionally, strong rebounding efforts from Josh Hart and Isaiah Hartenstein helped the Knicks dominate the Pacers on the glass.

In the Western Conference semifinals, the Denver Nuggets, led by Nikola Jokic, secured their third consecutive victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Despite initially falling behind 2-0 in the series, the Nuggets are now just one win away from returning to the Western Conference championship game.

Before the game, Nikola Jokic was honored with his third career Most Valuable Player of the Year award, further highlighting his importance to the team.

The Nuggets managed to contain Timberwolves’ star Anthony Edwards, limiting him to 18 points on 5-of-15 shooting.

NBA MVP, Nikola Jokic, who had previously scored 44 points in Game 4, said he recognizes the challenge that awaits in Minnesota for Game 6, but remains focused on overcoming the obstacles and advancing in the playoffs.
