Ndidi, Balogun in Onazi & Omeruo out – How Nigeria should line up against Algeria

As the Super Eagles of Nigeria take on the Fennecs of Algeria tomorrow at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium by 5pm, sportsration.com has come up with a line up that we believe will give Nigeria victory in the must win FIFA World Cup Qualification match.

Nigeria will be lining up in Rohr’s preferred 4-2-3-1 formation which could be collapsed into a 4-3-3.

GK: Daniel Akpeyi

Prefered over Alampasu and Ezenwa because of his experience but could be the reason the Super Eagles will drop points, his composure and many mistakes could let us down.

LB: Elderson Echiejile

Preferred over Kingsley Madu because of his experience at this level but the Nigerian who is on loan from Monaco isn’t a regualar player for Standard Liege, hope that won’t affect him tomorrow.

CBL: William Troost-Ekong

Haugesund FC defender ended the season on high was on whoscored Tippeligaen player of the season.

CBR: Leon Balogun

A center pairing of Leon-Troost-Ekong should tame Slimani and co.

DR: Abdullahi Shehu

We know many would want Victor Moses on this one or maybe Ndidi who played from that position when Nigeria played Zambia in Ndola, but Shehu seems the better option has it is his natural position.

DMF: Ndidi Oyinye

Ndidi takes our nod over Ogenyi Onazi, the 19-year-old has been in great form for his Belgian club. He has started all of Genk games in all competition and has scored as many as 4 goals from the defensive position. He his the best in the defensive position in the whole of Belgium and It will be nice to have him protect the back four.

CM: John Obi Mikel

He is not a regular at his club but he brings alot to the Super Eagles when he is on, his leadership and experience would be key in this fixture.

AMF: Oghenekaro Etebo

The CD Feirense attacker fits this position has he could help add more men to the midfield and help the attack.

AML: Alex Iwobi

The Arsenal man is got everything to make the Algerian suffer on the left flank.

AMR: Victor Moses

This spot could have been easily taken by any of the Moses but Victor suits the bill more than Ahmed and Simon. The Chelsea man who is entirely a new player under Conte has been playing at the top for more than a month and should do a good job if chosen.

ST: Kelechi Iheanacho

The Manchester City forward is our sure bet if Rohr and co wouldn’t gamble. Success was preffered over Ighalo before he got injured explains Mazzarri might have lost faith in Ighalo. Iheanacho is a better goal scorer compared to Ighalo and Ideye, he is more technical than the duo.

He has scored 4 in his last 4 games for the Super Eagles, Nigeria needs goals and Kelechi will score if given the nod.
