Alex Teixeira sends come and get me plea to Liverpool

Shakhtar Donetsk attacker Alex Teixeira has revealed that his potential switch to Liverpool this month is entirely in the Ukrainian club’s hands.

The Brazilian has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield during the January transfer window, with the Premier League outfit understood to have had a bid of around £24m turned down.

Alex TeixeiraThe price remains a sticking point in negotiations, with Donetsk reportedly holding out for as much as £40m, but Teixeira has insisted that he is keen on making the switch. “Liverpool are a huge club.

So many great players have passed through there,” he told NBC. “I want to be there. But that is up to the club president now. I can only hope.

It is frustrating. So now I’m just waiting, trying to be patient.” The 26-year-old joined Shakhtar in 2010 and has since gone on to help the club to five league titles and three domestic cups.
