Valbuena-gate judge may lift restrictions on Benzema

According to ‘RMC’ radio, Nathalie Boutard, the judge in charge of the alleged Mathieu Valbuena blackmailing case involving Karim Benzema, is poised to lift some of the restrictions on the Real Madrid player, in particular, the one preventing him from associating with the victim.

‘RMC’ says that the judge will lift the precautionary measures ahead of France’s friendlies against the Netherlands on 26th March and Russia three days later. Lifting the restrictions would allow Benzema and Valbuena to play together for their country.

‘RMC’ went on to say that Boutard, who questioned Benzema last week, will meet with prosecutors to discuss lifting the precautionary measures. At that meeting, she will decide whether or not to lift the Real Madrid man’s court order or send him to trial on charges that could see him spend up to five years in prison.
