Nigerian youngster Ime Ndon shines as Milsami beat Zhodino in Europa Conference League qualification clash
Nigerian youngster Ime Ndon put in an outstanding performance with two assists to help FC Milsami defeat Torpedo Zhodino 2-4 in a Europa Conference League Qualifying First Round clash on Thursday, 11th July 2024. SportsRation reports.
The match, played at Kiraly Sportletesitmeny, the adopted home of Belarusian club Torpedo Zhodino, showcased great football with six goals as both sides tested their resolve in the Europa Conference League qualifying round fixture.
Nigerian youngster Ime Ndon justified his inclusion in the starting XI with a stellar performance. His two assists being a significant contribution for the visitors on Thursday night.
The game began with Milsami taking an early lead in the 19th minute when Mamadou Camara scored with a left-footed shot from the center of the box after fine work from Ime Ndon and his FC Milsami teammates.
Just 11 minutes later, Danu Spataru doubled the lead for Milsami, finding the net with a right-footed shot that left the goalkeeper with no answers.
Torpedo Zhodino responded in the 33rd minute with a goal from Vadim Pobudey, who scored with a right-footed shot, making it 1-2.
The first half ended with Milsami leading 1-2, and they quickly extended their lead early in the second half. In the 50th minute, Danu Spataru scored his second goal of the match.
Torpedo Zhodino’s woes continued in the 79th minute when an own goal by Kirill Premudrov increased Milsami’s lead to 1-4. However, Torpedo Zhodino managed to get a consolation goal in the 89th minute when Timofey Sharkovskiy scored with a right-footed shot.
After another energetic performance in Milsami colours, former Ibom Youths FC forward, Ime Ndon was substituted in the 84th minute, making way for Ion Ghimp. His contributions were crucial in Milsami’s victory, especially with his two key assists that set the pace for his team’s dominance in the match.
The match ended with a 2-4 victory for Milsami Orhei, marking a significant step forward in their quest to reach the group stage of the 2024/2025 Europa Conference League campaign.
