Victor Moses thrilled after debut win for Luton Town against Sheffield Wednesday

Former Nigerian international Victor Moses has expressed his excitement after making his debut for Luton Town in their 2-1 comeback victory over Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, in an EFL Championship match.

Moses, who returned to England this summer following the end of his contract with Russian club Spartak Moscow, made his first appearance for Luton Town at Kenilworth Road. Coming off the bench in the 83rd minute, he replaced Joe Taylor as Luton recovered from a goal down to secure their first home win of the season.

Speaking after the match, the former Chelsea wing-back took to social media to express his gratitude:
“Massive 3 points and an incredible feeling to make my debut for Luton Town . Thanks to the fans for the reception, I really appreciate the support #ontonext.”

Luton Town went behind in the 52nd minute to a goal from Barry Bannan but found inspiration from Carlton Morris, who scored twice to complete the turnaround.

This was Moses’ first appearance in English football since leaving Chelsea three years ago. His return marks a significant step in his career, as he plays in the Championship for the first time since his early days with Crystal Palace. During his time with Palace, Moses appeared in 58 games, directly contributing to 17 goals.

Manager Rob Edwards handed Moses his debut a week after he was an unused substitute in the 1-0 win over Millwall, and his experience is expected to be a valuable addition to Luton Town’s campaign.

Victor Moses, who won the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria in 2013, brings a wealth of experience to Luton Town as they aim to build momentum in their EFL Championship season.
