Victor Moses returns to English Football with Luton Town

Former Chelsea winger Victor Moses has made a return to English football, joining English Championship side Luton Town on a free transfer after leaving Russian club Spartak Moscow earlier this summer.

The 33-year-old Nigerian international, who spent the past few years in Russia following his move from Chelsea in 2020, now brings his wealth of experience to Luton Town. Moses’ time at Chelsea was highlighted by a title-winning season under manager Antonio Conte, where he played a pivotal role in the team’s Premier League triumph.

Luton Town manager Rob Edwards expressed his excitement about the addition of Moses, saying, “We think he’s someone who can provide some really good competition for us.”

Moses has already begun integrating with his new teammates, participating in a behind-closed-doors match last week. The timing of his arrival is crucial for Luton, who are currently struggling in the Championship, having secured only one point from their first four games of the season.

Speaking after signing his contract, Victor Moses shared his enthusiasm: “I had a few offers from Europe, but I said to my agent that I set my mind on staying over here, and here we are. I’m very pleased and honoured to be at this club and I just can’t wait to get going. I want to come here and enjoy my football, work hard for the club and for the team, and get back to where we belong in the Premier League.”

Luton’s upcoming fixture this weekend against Millwall may offer Moses the chance to make his debut, as the team seeks to turn around their fortunes in the league.
