Europa League: Samu Omorodion scores twice as Porto hold Manchester United
Samu Omorodion scored twice in an exciting match as FC Porto and Manchester United drew 3-3 in a thrilling Europa League game.
Manchester United continued their struggles, giving up a two-goal lead against FC Porto on Thursday night. Marcus Rashford opened the scoring for United just seven minutes into the game, dribbling past defenders and slotting the ball past Porto’s goalkeeper, Diogo Costa. Rashford then set up Rasmus Hojlund, who easily scored to make it 2-0 for United.
However, Porto quickly responded. Joao Mário delivered dangerous crosses that led to two quick goals. First, Noussair Mazraoui, under pressure from Samu, accidentally headed the ball toward his own goal, and Pepe scored after André Onana’s save. Soon after, Samu Omorodion powered in a header to equalize for Porto.
After halftime, United’s troubles grew when Rashford was substituted. Porto took advantage as Nico González set up Pepe, who found Samu to blast the ball into the top corner, giving Porto a 3-2 lead.
Things got worse for United when Bruno Fernandes was sent off with a second yellow card for a high challenge. But just when it seemed like Porto would win, Harry Maguire scored a last-minute equalizer with a brilliant header from a corner to make it 3-3.
