PSG admits Ramos goof, ready to release him – Report
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly set to terminate Sergio Ramos contract without kicking the ball two months after signing him on a free.
The world of football celebrated what looked like the best ever transfer made by a club when Paris Saint-Germain signed six world class players with just £60m.
The Great Lionel Messi joined for free after leaving Barcelona, Georginio Wijnaldum joined for free after leaving Liverpool.
Gianluigi Donnarumma who is arguably one of the best goal keepers in the world left AC Milan to join for free.
Sergio Ramos also joined for free while Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes joined for £54m and €7m loan fee, €40m buy option [NO obligation officially].
While it looks like Achraf Hakimi has hit the ground running; Gianluigi Donnarumma, Georginio Wijnaldum, and Nuno Mendes have been in out of the team.
The great Lionel Messi is yet to meet 1/10 of his standard and Sergio Ramos is yet to kick the football in Paris Saint-Germain colours.
His injury is said to be a major concern to PSG hierarchy who are reportedly willing to terminate the former Real Madrid captain’s contract.
Paris-based paper, Le Parisien claims: “The option of contract termination is no longer science fiction, with PSG having accepted the fact that the could have made a mistake in his [Ramos’] signing.
“The trust that some placed in the defender at the time of his signing, or even after his calf injury a few weeks later, is no longer unshakable today.”
The report contradicts claims from those at the club who have spoken publicly about Ramos with a degree of optimism, most notably Leonardo on Friday night.
The sporting director was pressed on the central defender’s situation after PSG’s 2-1 comeback victory over reigning champions Lille on Friday night.
“We know Ramos has had an injury,” Leonardo explained.
“The Spanish press are playing games, we all knew he had a problem. We know what’s happening here.”
