Deborah Abiodun happy over ‘dream’ World Cup call-up

Rivers Angels FC midfielder Deborah Abiodun has revealed her excitement over her Super Falcons call-up for the upcoming 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The young midfielder excelled with Nigeria’s U-20 Women’s team the Falconets, enough to convince Super Falcons Head Coach Randy Waldrum to name her in his 23-player list for the World Cup.

Deborah Abiodun who is among the Falcons currently training in Australia for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, is still in dreamland over the invitation.

” Impossibility is nothing! Still feels like a dream to me heading to my first senior FIFA Women’s World Cup with Nigeria”, she said.

Deborah only made her Super Falcons debut in September 2022 during the international friendly double header vs the United States.

The Super Falcons will begin their World Cup campaign against Canada on July 21, before games vs co-hosts Australia and debutants Republic of Ireland.
