Ademola Lookman Suffers Minor Injury, Atlético Madrid Confirm

Ademola Lookman has suffered a minor injury, his Spanish club Atlético Madrid have confirmed.

The Super Eagles winger was taken off during the Copa del Rey Final against Real Sociedad on Saturday after appearing uncomfortable on the pitch.

In a statement released by the club, it was revealed that Lookman and his teammate Alexander Sørloth both ended the match with fitness concerns.

“Ademola Lookman and Alexander Sørloth finished the Copa del Rey final with discomfort,” the statement said.

After medical checks, Atlético Madrid’s doctors advised caution. Both players have now been placed on separate training programmes to reduce the risk of further injury.

“The club’s medical staff have carried out tests and advised maximum caution to avoid any injury risk. They will follow individual training plans in the coming days, working away from the main squad,” the statement added.

Their return to full team training will depend on how quickly they recover in the next few days.
