Ajay Mitchell Explodes for Career-High 30 Points as Thunder Beat Suns

Ajay Mitchell took full advantage of his opportunity in the starting lineup, pouring in a career-high 30 points to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 125-114 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Monday night.

The Belgian guard was at the heart of Oklahoma City’s attack, showing confidence and composure as the defending champions extended their unbeaten start to the season to 4-0.

Mitchell finished with 30 points, five assists, two rebounds and a block, shooting 10-of-16 from the field and 9-of-10 from the free-throw line. His performance came at an important time for the Thunder, who were dealing with several injuries to key players.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander also played his part, adding 26 points, three rebounds and three assists. Jared McCain contributed 18 points, while Isaiah Hartenstein recorded 15 points and 13 rebounds to help Oklahoma City maintain control.

The Thunder had already established a 67-53 advantage by halftime, with Mitchell scoring 18 points in the opening two quarters. Phoenix tried to fight its way back into the contest, but Oklahoma City held firm and secured an 11-point win.

Jalen Green led the Suns with 20 points, while Dillon Brooks added 19. However, Phoenix struggled to contain the Thunder’s attack and was unable to close the gap in the second half.

For Mitchell, the performance marked a major milestone in his NBA career. With Oklahoma City continuing to win despite its injury problems, his contribution could prove especially valuable as the season progresses.
