Ajibade Turns Attention to Cameroon After Super Falcons Reach WAFCON Quarter-Finals
Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has quickly turned her attention to Cameroon after Nigeria booked their place in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Nigeria secured their place in the knockout stage with an impressive 6-2 win over Egypt in their final Group C match on Wednesday.
Ajibade played a key role in the victory, scoring one of Nigeria’s goals as the defending champions produced their best attacking display of the tournament.
After the match, the PSG forward praised the entire team for their effort and thanked the coaching staff and supporters for their backing.
“What a fight. We made it out of the group stage. This win was about all of us, every player who stepped on that pitch, everyone in the squad pushing us on, our crew, technical team, staff, and every single fan back home believing with us.
“That’s what collective effort looks like. We fight for each other. Quarter-finals, here we come. The mission continues. The Queens Are Here,” Ajibade said.
The Super Falcons will now face Cameroon in the quarter-finals as they continue their bid to defend the WAFCON title.
