AKFA Cup: Vandrezzer FC battle FC ONE Rockets for a place in the final
Vandrezzer FC and FC ONE Rockets will battle for a spot in the final match of the 2023 Akwa Ibom State FA Cup plus a ticket to the Federation Cup national finals.
The semi-final match will take place at the Practice pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo Akwa Ibom State by 4pm on Wednesday March 15.
Vandrezzer FC were drawn bye for the first round while FC ONE Rockets defeated Regnant Academy 2-0 on Monday March 13 to setup this semi-final clash.
A talk of the town clash between two Nigeria National League sides with a lot of scores to settle this season.
Vandrezzer FC and FC ONE Rockets share the same home ground ( Eket Stadium) and are in Group B 1 for the 2022/2023 Nigeria National League season.
The first competitive meeting between the clubs, the Akwa Ibom State FA Cup second semi-final clash will offer both teams an opportunity to book a National Federation Cup ticket plus a Final date vs Akwa United FC who defeated Dakkada FC on penalties in the first semi-final.
For the Rockets, it will be a third consecutive Akwa Ibom State FA Cup Semi-final. Coach Ndubuisi Ndah and his boys will look to finally cross this hurdle after defeats in their previous attempts.
Vandrezzer FC on their part are playing in the Akwa Ibom State FA Cup for the first time. The Lions will hope their experience from winning the Lagos State FA cup title in 2021 could make the difference vs FC ONE Rockets.
