Alex Iwobi and Everton pre-season schedule

Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi and his teammates will begin pre-season activities with English Premier League club Everton this week .

The versatile midfielder has been holidaying since helping Nigeria secure qualification for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with a 2-3 win over Sierra Leone.

The national team engagement came days after Everton survived relegation from the Premier League, Iwobi starring significantly in all 38 games to finish as the clubs best player.

According to the Everton 2023/2024 pre-season schedule, Iwobi alongside 27 other Toffees will travel to Switzerland on July 10 (today) where manager Sean Dyche will setup for his first full season at the club.

Five friendly games have been scheduled to take place between July 14 and August 5.

Everton will face Stade Nyonnais, Wigan Athletic, Bolton Wanderers, Stoke City, and Sporting CP in preparation for the 2023/2024 season.

Alex Iwobi is not the only player of Nigerian descent on the team. 18-year-old Anglo-Nigerian midfielder Francis Okoronkwo is also on the roster.

Their season will begin with a Premier League season with a fixture against Fulham on 12, August 2023.

As earlier reported Iwobi has entered the final year of his current contract with the Toffees and is expected to take decision on a new contract proposal from the club this week.
