Alozie reacts to red card in Houston Dash defeat

Super Falcons of Nigeria defender Michelle Alozie has reacted to her red card in Houston Dash defeat in the National Women’s Soccer League on Sunday September 3.

Alozie was sent off in the 35th minute of his sides 1-0 loss to San Diego Waves to pile more misery on struggling Houston Dash.

For the red card, Alozie miscalculated a ball control before bringing down a San Diego player Rachel Hill who was through on goal, therefore denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity.

After the match on Sunday, the Nigerian defender went on social media with kind words for her teammates.

disappointed that I put my team in a tough position tonight. however, extremely proud of the effort and fight that they had with only 10 players. I will always give it all for them and the H, ” Alozie wrote on her X (Twitter) handle.

That defeat leaves Houston Dash in 10th position with 20 points from 18 games in the NWSL league table .

They will face Racing Louisville in their next game on September 16 as the season draws to it’s end with four matchdays to go.

This season, the Super Falcon defender has scored two goals in fourteen appearances for Houston Dash in the NWSL.
