Iniesta, regarded as one of the best midfielders in history, will officially announce his retirement on October 8th. The Spanish icon won the 2010 FIFA World Cup, famously scoring the winning goal in the final against the Netherlands.
Iniesta began his football journey at Barcelona’s renowned La Masia academy, where his talent quickly stood out. Pep Guardiola, then Barcelona’s captain, once told Xavi that Iniesta would be the one to take over their roles on the team due to his exceptional ability.
Throughout his career, Iniesta impressed with his incredible ball control, vision, and composure. Former Spain manager Vicente del Bosque described him as “a complete footballer” who could attack, defend, create, and score. His remarkable skills and achievements have left a lasting legacy in the football world.
