Arsenal Crash Out of Champions League After PSG Defeat

Arsenal’s hopes of reaching the UEFA Champions League final came to an end after a dramatic 2-1 loss to Paris Saint-Germain at Parc des Princes.

The Gunners went into the second leg needing to overturn a 1-0 first-leg defeat but were once again denied by a brilliant performance from PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Donnarumma, who had starred in the first leg at the Emirates, was in top form again, making a string of superb saves to frustrate Arsenal. He denied Gabriel Martinelli early on and then pulled off a stunning stop from Martin Odegaard’s low shot from distance.

Arsenal’s hopes of reaching the UEFA Champions League final came to an end after a dramatic 2-1 loss to Paris Saint-Germain at Parc des Princes.

PSG took the lead on the night in the 27th minute when Fabian Ruiz struck from outside the box. His effort, which came after a poor headed clearance by Thomas Partey, took a slight deflection and beat David Raya.

The game remained lively, with Donnarumma again saving brilliantly from Bukayo Saka. At the other end, Raya saved a penalty from Vitinha after Myles Lewis-Skelly was judged to have handled the ball.

PSG doubled their lead in the 72nd minute. Partey lost possession, and Achraf Hakimi pounced, turning quickly to fire past Raya.

Arsenal responded four minutes later when Saka finally got the better of Donnarumma with a neat angled finish. But it wasn’t enough to spark a full comeback. Saka later missed a golden chance to equalise, firing over an open goal.

PSG held on to win 3-1 on aggregate and will now face Inter Milan in the Champions League final in Munich.
