Arteta vows to keep fighting for European Football as Arsenal host Liverpool

Mikel Arteta is hopeful of leading Arsenal to securing an European Football next season as his side host Liverpool on Wednesday.

Arsenal hopes of securing an European competition suffered a huge set back with a 2-1 loss to Tottenham in Sunday but the Spaniard is adamant his side can still grab a spot.

With three games to go, Arsenal have tough games ahead of them including a clash against the newly crowned champions but Arteta has said he would fight until the end.

“Points-wise it is a massive blow because we know the results this weekend, but we will keep trying until we have no hope,” he said.

“This is who we are. We are fighting in two different ways, one in the league and won in the FA Cup. Will we do our best and try and finish as strong as possible.

“I am disappointed and frustrated and really sorry for the boys because of the way they played and showed who we are.

“But you give the two goals away that we have given, against these players it is very difficult to win a derby.

“If we minimise the mistakes we do and keep playing like that we are going to win many, many, many football matches because we are going to make it very difficult for opponents.”

9th placed Arsenal can secure an Europa League spot if they win the FA Cup where they would face Manchester City in the semifinal or finish in top 7 which seems difficult with their run of fixtures.
