Barcelona Legend Rivaldo Backs Raphinha for 2025 Ballon d’Or

Brazilian football legend and former Barcelona star, Rivaldo, believes Raphinha still has a chance to win the 2025 Ballon d’Or, despite Barcelona’s recent Champions League exit.

Barcelona were knocked out of the Champions League in the semi-finals by Inter Milan earlier this week, a result that many feel could harm Raphinha’s chances of claiming the top individual award.

However, speaking to SPORT (via Barca Universal), Rivaldo said:
“He [Raphinha] can still dream of winning the Ballon d’Or. Even though Barcelona are out of the Champions League, I think he still has a chance because he’s having a great season.”

The 27-year-old Brazilian forward has enjoyed an outstanding campaign. So far, he has scored 32 goals and provided 25 assists in 51 matches across all competitions for Barcelona.

Raphinha, who joined from Leeds United, has already helped Barca win the Copa del Rey and the Supercopa de España this season.

Although the Champions League exit may have affected his Ballon d’Or hopes, winning the La Liga title, especially ahead of rivals Real Madrid, could boost his chances.

Raphinha is also currently the joint-top scorer in the Champions League this season, tied with Borussia Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy, with both players scoring 13 goals.
