Chelsea legend explains what must be considered before January move for Victor Osimhen

Chelsea legend Gustavo Poyet has shared his thoughts on the possible transfer of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen to Chelsea.

Osimhen has been linked with Chelsea for the last 18 months, and the club tried to sign him in the summer. However, they could not agree on a deal, and the 25-year-old moved to Galatasaray on loan instead.

As the January transfer window approaches, reports suggest Osimhen could be available for a lower price, and Chelsea may renew their interest in him.

Poyet discussed the need for Chelsea to sign a striker but warned the club to be careful. He said, “Looking at how the team is doing right now, would I bring in someone who might cause problems in the dressing room? No. You need to find the right player with the right character.”

He added that Chelsea needs a player who will improve the team, not someone who could disrupt things. “It’s important to find a player who will help and bring healthy competition to the squad,” Poyet explained.

Osimhen has continued his impressive form, scoring 8 goals in 10 games for Galatasaray. With the January transfer window coming up, he is expected to be a major topic in the transfer rumours.
