Chelsea set to change Jérémie Boga buyback into sell-on clause?

Chelsea will not be activating their buyback clause on Jérémie Boga who is now one of the most sought after youngster in Italy.

The former France youth star who came through the ranks at Chelsea joined Sassuolo in 2018 for a reported fee of £3.5m with a buy back clause of £13m inserted in the deal.

Despite the desire for a return to the Stamford Bridge by the one cap Elephant of Ivory Coast star, Chelsea are reportedly uninterested in re-signing him according to Guardian Sport.

The club would rather negotiate a sell-on clause which would make the London club make a gain should Sassuolo decide to catch in on him with Napoli waiting on the wings.

Jérémie Boga has 11 Serie A goals in 52 appearances for Sassoulo. Sassuolo were in 11th place in Serie A when it was suspended in March.

Serie A hopes to resume the season in mid-June and to finish it before 20 August.
