Chelsea’s Mykhailo Mudryk escapes the ‘Agent 007’ tag

Mykhailo Mudryk has escaped football’s ‘Agent 007’ tag after providing an assist for Mateo Kovacic’s goal in Chelsea’s 3-1 win at Leicester City on Saturday.

The ‘Agent 007’ tag became a popular meme on social media after Liverpool’s £45m signing Cody Gakpo went blank in 6 games for the reds.

Cody Gakpo who was expected to fill in the goalscoring vacancy left by Saido Mane failed to hit the ground running in his first 6 games.

He was without a goal, or assist, in six games, and fans thought he was going to fire blank in his 7th game for Liverpool, but he scored against Everton.

Just like Cody Gakpo, Chelsea’s £88.5m buy Mykhailo Mudryk also escaped the tag by assisting a goal in his 7th game for the Blues.

The former Shakhtar Donetsk attacker thought he scored a goal in the 74th minute but the goal was ruled out for offside.

But there was no stopping Mykhailo Mudryk in the 78th minute when he teed up Mateo Kovacic for his goal.

Mykhailo Mudryk’s first 7 games for Chelsea

Premier League- Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea
Premier League- Chelsea 0-0 Fulham
Premier League- Westham 1-1 Chelsea
Champions League – Dortmund 1-0 Chelsea
Premier League – Chelsea 0-1 Southampton
Premier League – Tottenham 2-0 Chelsea
Premier League – Leicester City 1-3 Chelsea

So, Mykhailo Mudryk avoided football’s ‘Agent 007’ by erasing a zero, he has 0 goals, and 1 assist, in 7 games.
