Chris Paul makes history as the Phoenix Suns win against Pelicans

Lakers, Bucks, Heat, Jazz all win

Phoenix Suns star Chris Paul further etched his name in the history books for the NBA as he overtook Steve Nash to become the man with the third-highest number of assists ever in the NBA after his double-double in a 112-100 win against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Chris Paul recorded 14 points and 18 assists for the Phoenix Suns in their win, taking him to 10,336 career assists in the NBA. Only Jason Kidd (12,091) and John Stockton (15,806) have had more assists than Paul in NBA history. Chris Paul’s assists achievement came just days after he became the first player in NBA history to reach 20,000 points and 10,000 assists.

Mikal Bridges contributed 22 points for the Phoenix Suns, with Devin Booker and Javale McGee contributing 18 points apiece as the Phoenix Suns improved their record to 3-3 for the season.

Los Angeles Lakers made it five wins for the season after a 119-117 win over the Houston Rockets, who have now won only once this season. LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook contributed 30, 27 and 27 points, respectively, for the Lakers. James also recorded 10 assists to make up a double-double for him.

Donovan Mitchell and Mike Conley combined for 66 points as the Utah Jazz defeated the Sacramento Kings 119-113 to pick up their sixth win of the season from seven matches and condemn the Kings to a fourth defeat. Bojan Bogdanovic also recorded 20 points for Utah Jazz.

Miami Heat continued their impressive start to the season by defeating the Dallas Mavericks 125-110 for their sixth win from seven games this season in the NBA. Tyler Herro led the scoring with 25 points for the Heat, with Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and Kyle Lowry contributing 23, 22 and 22 points, respectively.

Giannis Antetokounmpo contributed 28 points with eight rebounds and nine assists for the Milwaukee Bucks as they won 117-89 against the Detroit Pistons. D’Tigers ace Jordan Nwora contributed 16 points for the Bucks as he helped them pick up the win and end their three-game losing streak.
