Cole Palmer is Premier League Young player of the season

Cole Palmer has been named the Premier League Young Player of the Season, edging out competition from Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka.

Palmer, who transferred to Chelsea from Manchester City last summer, has had a standout season, despite his limited previous Premier League experience.

The 22-year-old midfielder made an immediate impact at Chelsea, providing a decisive assist in his first start against Brighton, contributing to a 1-0 victory. From there, Palmer continued to shine, amassing an impressive tally of 22 goals and 10 assists in the Premier League for Chelsea.

His contributions were instrumental in securing 15 points for Chelsea throughout the season, single-handedly lifting them into Europa League contention after a challenging start to the campaign.

Palmer’s exceptional performance earned him the prestigious Premier League Young Player of the Year award, triumphing over contenders such as Haaland, Saka, Phil Foden, Alexander Isak, William Saliba, and Destiny Udogie.

Joining previous winners like Trent Alexander Arnold, Phil Foden, and Erling Haaland, Palmer now takes his place among the league’s brightest young talents, marking a remarkable achievement in his burgeoning career.
