Daniel Amokachi takes charge of first training session at Lobi Stars
Former Super Eagles forward, Daniel Amokachi, officially started his role as the new technical adviser of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Lobi Stars, on Monday, October 7, 2024.
Amokachi was appointed on Sunday, October 6, following the dismissal of Eugene Agagbe, who was sacked after Lobi Stars’ poor start to the 2024/2025 season. The team had managed just one win, one draw, and suffered three defeats in their first five matches, leaving them 17th on the NPFL table.
On Monday morning, Amokachi led his first training session at McCarthy Stadium, beginning preparations for the crucial North Central derby against Niger Tornadoes this weekend. The training was described as intensive, as the former Super Eagles star seeks to quickly instill his ideas and turn the team’s fortunes around.
SportsRations’ Nsikakabasi Akpan commented that “Former Nigeria national team striker Daniel Amokachi will look to turn the tide at Lobi Stars FC following a poor start to the 2024/2025 NPFL season.”
At the moment, fans of Lobi Stars are hopeful that Amokachi, with his vast experience both as a player and coach, can bring much-needed improvement to the club.
