Dembélé Gives PSG First-Leg Lead Over Arsenal in Champions League Semi-Final

Paris Saint-Germain took a big step towards the UEFA Champions League final with a 1-0 win over Arsenal in the first leg of their semi-final on Tuesday night.

Ousmane Dembélé scored the only goal of the match in the fourth minute, finishing off the post after a pass from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. PSG were dominant early on and managed to keep their lead until the end, despite pressure from Arsenal.

This was Arsenal’s first semi-final appearance since 2009. Mikel Arteta’s side improved after the slow start and thought they had equalised when Mikel Merino headed in, but the goal was ruled offside by VAR. PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma made several key saves, including a brilliant stop from Leandro Trossard.

PSG had chances to increase their lead late in the game but Bradley Barcola missed a clear opportunity and Gonçalo Ramos hit the crossbar.

If PSG can protect their lead in the second leg at home next week, they will face either Inter Milan or Barcelona in the final in Munich. The French side are hoping to win their first-ever Champions League title.

Arsenal had beaten PSG 2-0 earlier in the tournament, but Luis Enrique’s side have improved massively since then. They have already knocked out Manchester City, Liverpool, and Aston Villa on their way to this stage.
