Edo Queens reinforce squad ahead of continental campaign
Nigeria’s Edo Queens have bolstered their squad with 14 new players as they prepare for the 2024/2025 CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU-B qualifiers.
The club, which has been training intensively in Uzairue for the past month, aims to make a significant impact in the upcoming tournament set to take place in Côte d’Ivoire.
The club’s management is confident that the addition of these new recruits, who bring a blend of quality, experience, and versatility, will strengthen their chances in the competition. “The integration of these 14 new players, along with our team’s recent impressive performances, makes it a tough task for opponents to stop us,” the statement from Edo Queens Media read.

Edo Queens are gearing up to face tough opponents, including Omnisports Etincelle FC of Burkina Faso on August 11, Hasaacas Ladies FC of Ghana on August 14, and AS Garde Nationale of Niger on August 17.
All matches will be held at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny Champroux Stadium in Côte d’Ivoire.
The team’s goal is to secure victories in at least two of their group stage matches to advance to the final stage of the competition.
Edo Queens and their top management are expected to travel to Côte d’Ivoire next week for the qualifiers, with high hopes of making a strong statement in the tournament.
