El Salvador Players Claim Pre-Match Bribe In World Cup Qualifier

El Salvador players have put the North American World Cup qualifiers in a match fixing scandal with claims that they’ve refused a bribe ahead of their match with Canada later today, a game that could have big implications in qualifying.
The North and Central American qualifying stages for the 2018 World Cup are on their final game before the next stage of the process and El Salvador can’t qualify however ahead of their game against Canada they claim they’ve been bribed by a Salvadoran businessman working on behalf of an unnamed Honduran to fix the match.
Honduras are currently three points ahead of Canada in qualifying but play Mexico who have a 100% record in the group. Canada require Mexico to win whilst beating El Salvador with a five goal swing in order to qualify.
The El Salvador team called a press conference and played an audio taping with businessman Ricardo Padilla reportedly offering the side a bribe.
