Erling Haaland closes in on Norway record after 22nd career hat-trick

Erling Haaland scored all three goals in Norway’s 3-0 victory over Kosovo on Wednesday at Ullevaal Stadion, marking his 22nd career hat-trick for club and country.

Haaland opened the scoring in the 15th minute, then added two more in the 70th and 75th minutes, securing a comfortable win for the Lions. This hat-trick brings Haaland’s tally to 30 international goals in 32 games, just three shy of Norway’s all-time top scorer, Jorgen Juve, who has 33 goals.

With this performance, Haaland has surpassed the hat-trick records of Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappe, and Sergio Aguero.

Norway, led by Staale Solbakken, played dominantly against a Kosovo side managed by Franco Foda. Haaland’s prolific form continues to be a crucial asset for both his national team and Manchester City.

Haaland aims to close in on Juve’s record when Norway travels to Denmark on June 8. With Norway not participating in this summer’s European Championship, Haaland’s next opportunity to match or surpass Juve’s record will likely come in Lovene’s UEFA Nations League match against Kazakhstan.
