EUROPA LEAGUE: Emenike on song, Ndidi stars as Imoh, Ideye, Igiegbor crash with their clubs

Emmanuel Emenike continued his impressive start to the season as he scored his club’s only goal, Wilfred Ndidi put in another faultless display in his clubs 3-1 victory over Sassoulo.

Nigerians were here and there in Europe at the Thursday’s Europa League. Few were on the winning side while the other few were on the losing side.

Here is the report card of the Nigerian players that played in yestersday’s Europa League.

Raheem Lawal, Aminu Umar (Osmanlispor)

Raheem Lawal played for the entire duration as his club lost 2-1, while Aminu Umar came in the 2nd half to set up Mayer’s goal for the Turkish but Zurich took the lead again and won the tie 2-1.

Anthony Nwakaeme and John Ogu played the entire duration as the Isreali side played a goalless draw with Southampton.

Anderson Esiti (Gent)

Anderson Esiti came in the 2nd half as Gent defeated Konyaspor 2-0. Ibrahim Rabiu was an unused sub and injured Simon Moses wasn’t listed.

Ubong Ekpai Moses came in the 2nd for his Liberec but couldn’t help as his club went down at home to Paok FC.

Oyinye Ndidi (Genk)

Oyinye Ndidi put up another stellar display as his club, Genk beat Sassuolo 3-1 in Belgium.

Olarenwaju Kayode (Austria Wien)

Olarenwaju Kayode played for 86th minutes as Victoria Plzen held his club Austria Wien to a goalledd draw.

Imoh Fred Friday (AZ)

Imoh Fred Friday was on the pitch for the entire duration as his Dutch side, AZ suffered a 5-0 bashing in the hands of Russian giants Zenit Petersburg.

Brown Ideye (Olympiakos)

Brown Ideye played for the entire match but couldn’t prevent his club from losing 1-0 at home to Apoel Nicosia.

Emmanuel Emenike (Fernabache)

Emmanuel Emenike’s first half strike was the only thing that separated his Turkish club Fernabache from Feyenoord. He was substituted for Robin van Persie in the 77th minute.

Nosa Igiebor (Maccabi Tel Aviv)

Nosa Igiebor was on the pitch for more than an hour as his club lost to Dundalk. The Maccabi Tel Aviv star just couldn’t stop his Isreali based side from going down 1-0 away from home.
