Fan starts petition to get Barcelona vs PSG match replayed – it now has over 69k signatures

Deniz Aytekin was slammed for his refereeing performance in Barcelona‘s 6-1 epic with Paris Saint-Germain but one fan has taken his criticism to the next level.

Luis Melendo has created a petition on Change.org with the aim of getting the Champions League clash replayed following 13 questionable decisions that were apparently made by Aytekin.

Reports suggest the 38-year-old German official is set to be demoted following Barca’s historic European comeback, where goals from Luis Saurez, Layvin KurzawaLionel Messi, Neymar and Sergi Roberto made it a memorable night at the Nou Camp.

Remarkably, Melendo’s petition has already been signed by well over 69,000 people and this number is expected to increase rapidly in the coming days.

Aytekin’s questionable calls… according to the petition

2min: Offside goal by Luis Suarez

11min: Uncalled penalty on Javier Mascherano for handball inside the penalty area

23min: Gerard Pique not sent off

42min: What should have been a second yellow for Gerard Pique turned into Edinson Cavani being booked

45min: Three and a half minutes of added time

48min: Neymar penalty given after forward deliberately seeks contact

54min: Neymar simulates another penalty. No card was given

64min: Aggressive act by Neymar, should have seen red card

78min: Handball by Pique inside the box but not given

85min: Uncalled penalty on Mascherano for challenge on Angel Di Maria inside the area

89min: Obvious dive by Suarez that won a penalty

90min: Five minutes of added time (or until Barcelona score!)

92min: Suarez deserved second yellow card for simulating penalty

There is some speculation that Aytekin said ‘f*** you’ to a number of PSG’s stars during the round of 16 tie but these rumours are not confirmed.

To add to the petition, the Catalan giants are also facing a sizeable fine from UEFA after several supporters invaded the field at the final whistle.

It’s understood a panel will review this particular case on March 23.

What a BS. Get life. PSG lost because they didn’t play well that day. They were no angels either. The two penalties were correct – watch the replays again. Search the web for slow motion replays.
