Former England Player Criticizes Onana’s Mistake in Man Utd’s Loss to Nottingham Forest

Manchester United suffered another defeat in their Premier League season, losing 3-2 to Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford. The game saw a big mistake from goalkeeper Andre Onana, which led to heavy criticism from pundits.

Onana made a costly error when Morgan Gibbs-White took a long shot in the second half. Onana misjudged the shot, moving in the wrong direction and letting the ball go past him and into the goal. This mistake put Manchester United behind, and Nottingham Forest quickly added a third goal from Chris Wood.

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp was very critical of Onana’s performance, saying, “He’s falling backwards, his balance is wrong, his weight is on his heels. That’s really bad goalkeeping.”

Former Manchester United defender Phil Jones also agreed that Onana would find it hard to watch the replay of his mistake. Gibbs-White, who scored the second goal, said he was surprised Onana didn’t save the shot, although he praised Onana as a great goalkeeper.

Despite a late penalty from Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United couldn’t recover, and they stayed in 13th place in the league after their sixth loss of the season.
